Investor data rooms are a set of important documents and data that you’ll need to share with investors during due diligence. These documents could include your pitch deck, business plan as well as legal documents like non-compete agreements and employee agreements. The more organized and thorough your investor data area is and the more quickly you can close an agreement.

Although every company is different, most will have similar requirements in an investor data room. For this reason, we’ve created a list of key documents and other information that founders must include in their data rooms. This should give you a good idea of what to include in your data room, but we’re here to assist you in modifying it more. Reach out and let us know!

Stage 1

This stage takes place after you receive the term sheet (or an alternative version that is tailored to an investor) from an investor. This is also the time when you should have shared your pitch deck (or an equivalent version that is tailored to an investor) and is often used as the cover page for your data room.

Investors will study your financials and create projections on the basis of different scenarios. Investors will also want to know the business’s operations, revenue generation, and also review contracts and customer lists. They’ll be interested in your technology stack as well as any intellectual property you have.
